Fête du pain Gourgé, le 31 mai, 2015

Some bread making in the old traditional style. There are many homes that still have the bread ovens outside. The bread tastes fabulous!! These antique tractors still function and were all driven into Gourgé.

A surprise visit from la tortue (turtle)

A surprise visit last night from la tortue (turtle). It was just walking around the top of our garden and then made its way to the river. We have no idea where it came from? It was seen this morning on the river bank, so all is good. Every day here is an adventure!

We found out that this turtle is a turtle from Florida. This aquatic species was imported from the United States in the years 80-90. ( La tortue est une tortue de Floride. Cette espèce aquatique a été importée des Etats-Unis dans les années 80- 90.  Elle est en concurrence avec les espèces européennes.)

Our return to "au pont", our French Country Getaway

After 4.5 months in Australia, we arrived back last week, to be greeted by brisk frostie mornings where the air is so clean that you feel invigorated for the whole day. Mais oui, it gets better... as the day opens up the the warm rays of sunshine bring the Spring flowers to life. So, when are you visiting us?
