Donna and Peter Hein (Australians) purchased a property in the regional town of Gourgé in France, in October 2008. Gourgé is situated in the Deux Sèrves Department, Poitou-Charantes Region. "au pont", with its original exterior is a pre-Nepoleonic building, situtated on the riverbank of the River Thouet. It offers one acre of beautiful gardens, sporting activities and private river frontage for you to enjoy on your vacation. wwww.frenchcountrygetaway.com.au (click on the photos to enlarge them)

Noix St Jacques Lunch
One of the luxuries of living in France, is the amazing variety of quality foods, plus the added bonus of affordability.
Our lunch today cooked by moi, is Noix St Jacques on vegetable couscous
The scallops were seasoned, cooked in a little olive oil with a slight touch of chillie. A rosemary butter bomb was added for extra flavor and the pan deglazed with some delicious French white wine for the sauce. 8 of these large Noix St Jacques cost 4.65 € (euro). The vegetables in the couscous consisted of; garlic, écholates, ginger, sweet potato, pumpkin, parnsip and capicum. Yumm!
So, when are you coming to visit?
A bientôt
Peter et Donna
